Packing lists The most important thing to do while making lists or packing is to think in terms of containers. What are you going to want packed in a particular box or bag? List these things together. When making up your lists add separate amount columns for: Need, Have and Loaded. Put the correct number in each column as it is done. Camera Water bottle, snacks Bug dope, head net Sunscreen, sunglasses, case, strap Rain gear, warm clothing Gloves, hats (sun & rain) Think moderately lightweight for all of this stuff. It will be easier to move it back & forth to campsites and make the boats easier to handle. Avoid heavy canvas tents or large cots, and don’t pack more food & drinks than you will consume. (Everyone overestimates food & drink, so just don't do it.) Plan meals and share camping equipment with others in your boat or with the whole group.
